Shelly Hearne

"Shelly Hearne is known for employing a bold, inventive color palette in her paintings. Hearne's works ... possess a “stained glass” quality created by the use of deep, saturated color bordered by heavy black lines."-- Southwest Art (July 2004)

According to Shelly, “My work is all about color: vivid, vibrant color.  My roots are in interior design and architecture, and the abstract quality has evolved from that background. I consider myself a 'contemporary realist' and  I enjoy creating colorful abstractions. Pastels allow me to work with both soft and hard edges. Taking pigment to paper I let my imagination and fingers create. Acrylics give me the opportunity to create lively textured pieces.”
