Norma Meeks

Norma has been painting for over 30 years and it is one of her greatest pleasures. After growing up and raising a family in Virginia, she and her husband moved to Colorado, where Norma found a new sense or inspiration.

Water media and mixed media on paper or canvas are her choice of materials. Landscape and abstracts are usual subjects and the use of rice papers and found materials often find their way into Norma’s paintings. She states,” I like to leave areas for the viewer to explore and to mentally finish to their taste”. At the present time Norma is very interested in texture and overlaid areas of color and hopefully a touch of mystery.

Norma has had the pleasure and good fortune to study with some great teachers through the years; Carole Barns, Gerald Brommer, Louise Cadillac, Zolton Szabo and Ed Whitney as well as regional east coast artists.
